I’ve been selling my art since high school—back when jean jackets, leather coats, and big hair ruled the scene. My first “clients” were classmates who wanted their favourite rock bands, comic heroes, or pinup girls painted on their jackets. Before I knew it, I was painting stage gear for local bands, musicians, and even exotic dancers (yes, that was a wild chapter!). My little sister soon joined the fun, painting for her own circle of friends. Over the years, I branched out into logos, book covers, magazine inserts, and all kinds of freelance art and photography projects. I picked up a few awards along the way, but honestly, what I really wanted was something bigger—a way to create what I love, share it with people who get it, and have a whole lot of fun doing it.
Over time, my focus shifted, and I found myself taking on fewer pinup art projects as my contracts became more mainstream. I missed that part of my work, because I grew up during an art era where you couldn’t turn a corner without seeing the influence of my idols—artists like Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Alberto Vargas, and Olivia De Berardinis. They shaped my style and inspired me to push my creativity. While my heart has always belonged to the world of fantasy art, I’ve also discovered new hobbies and interests over the years. Many of those passions have found their way into my artwork, keeping it evolving and fresh.
Being an artist is the only thing that keeps me sane (well… mostly sane). I’m always switching creative gears—driving my husband a little crazy in the process—and that’s why I’ve built a few different artistic “personalities” online to keep all my passions covered. My sister Nicky is wired the exact same way, which makes her the perfect partner-in-crime for so many of my projects. Here on DLG, I’ve kept a special corner for my fantasy and pinup work, but most of what you’ll see is pure fun for fellow amphibian and reptile lovers.
But of course, we don’t stop there. Together, Nicky and I run SibBling Rivalry Design™ under our brand SR Wear Atude—our flagship streetwear line made for musicians, entertainers, and anyone who’s obsessed with music as much as we are. And because we can’t help but start new projects, we’ve also launched SR2—a creative resource shop where we’ll sell textures, digital brushes, and transparent elements to make life easier (and way more fun) for other artists.
